(BALTIMORE) July 17, 2017 – The 72nd Annual Hereford Junior Farm Fair will begin on Saturday, August 5th with an Opening Ceremony at 8:45 AM at the Baltimore County Center for Maryland Agriculture and Farm Park in Cockeysville, MD.

The ceremony will start with a greeting by the 2017 Fair President, John O’Brien, and an introduction of Mr. Kamenetz, who will officially declare the beginning of the 2017 HJFF with a ceremonial ringing of the Calhoun Bell. Following the Opening Ceremony will be tours of the exhibits, the Fair’s new facilities, and a Garden Fest event, hosted by the Maryland Master Gardeners.

The Hereford Junior Farm Fair will welcome back honorees who have been strong supporters since the Fair’s inception in 1945.  This year, the Fair will also celebrate and recognize Fair exhibitors from the 1940’s.

The Fair’s hours are 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 5, 2017. All visitors are welcome and can enjoy free parking and admission. The Fair features a variety of indoor and outdoor exhibits, as well as a pet show. Indoor departments include agriculture, arts and crafts, clothing, demonstrations, fine arts, flowers, foods, photography and vegetables/fruits. Outdoor departments include beef cattle, dairy heifers/cows, dairy steers, dairy goats, meat goats, poultry, sheep and rabbits/cavies.

Located at the Baltimore County Center for Maryland Agriculture and Farm Park at 1114 Shawan Rd. in Cockeysville, the Fair welcomes exhibitors under the age of 21 who are residents of Baltimore County, or who are enrolled in a Baltimore County School, or an active member of a Baltimore County 4-H Club or a 4-H Alumnus.
